Devils Bounce Bingo

A huge four point night by Alexander Vasyunov paced the Albany Devils to a 5-4 win over the rival Binghamton Senators.  Vasyunov’s first two goals in an A-Devs jersey served as bookends to Albany’s five goal output.

Michael Swift also had a nice evening, cracking double digits in goals with his tenth, while adding an assist.  Captain Stephen Gionta posted his fourth goal of the year while Darcy Zajac like Vasyunov notched his first goal in an Albany uniform as well.  Devils defenseman Mark Fraser on a conditioning assignment also added an assist on the night.  Fraser becomes the fifth player to have skated for both the Albany Devils and Albany River Rats.

Goaltender Mike McKenna made the lead stand up for Albany making 28 saves as the Devils picked up their fourth point in the last three games.  Albany ends 2010 on a positive note and now stands at 13-17-0-2 (28 points) sixth place in the East Division and 11 points behind the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
