Rinkside Roundup

Rinkside Roundup starts in a Southeast Division battle between the Atlanta Thrashers and Florida Panthers.  One-time Albany River Rats goaltender Scott Clemmensen made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Panthers.  However it was the Thrashers who would come out on top 3-2 in a shootout.

In Montreal the Canadiens defeated the Calgary Flames 5-4 in OT.  P.K. Subban netted the winner with his fourth at 1:06 in the the extra frame.

Playing in his 1,000th career NHL contest, Patrick Marleau got the scoring started for the San Jose Sharks in their 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.  The goal for Marleau was his 18th on the year.

Also appearing in his 1,000th career NHL game was Jamie Langenbrunner.  It would be a night made even more special as Langenbrunner recorded the game winning goal on the power-play, his fifth of the year as the Dallas Stars edged the Los Angeles Kings 2-1.
