It was “Pucks and Paws” night at the TU Center. Unfortunately it seemed as though the only two commands the Albany Devils responded to were, “roll over” and “play dead.” A robust crowd of 4,135 could only shake their heads, save for the Rochester Americans booster club, as the Devils once again gave up another half dozen to the Amerks in Albany and went an abysmal 0-7 on the power-play against last place Rochester.
Three power-play goals and three more added to that made for a huge night for the Rochester Americans as they decimated the Albany Devils 6-1. Chris Taylor, Mike Kostka and Jordan Knackstedt each notched a goal and an assist for the Amerks, while goalie Jacob Markstrom nearly recorded a shutout making 24 saves before Vladimir Zharkov tipped one by him late in the third for Albany. The Amerks have now out-scored the Devils 12-5 in Albany this season and have split the season series 2-2.
