Albany Well Represented In All-Star Weekend

Albany was well represented this weekend when it came to All-Star players in the NHL and AHL All-Star contests.  Albany Devils All-Star Matt Anderson of the Devils vaunted “JAM Line” roofed one into the cage to help the Eastern Conference to an 11-8 win.

Former Albany River Rat Jerome Samson added a goal and two assists for the East, while Bryan Rodney also suited up for the Eastern squad.  Though he’s Adirondack not Albany, still local, Phantoms defenseman Erik Gustafsson chipped in with two helpers for the East as well.

In the NHL All-Star Game, former Albany River Rat and current New Jersey Devil Patrik Elias had a goal and an assist for “Team Staal.”  Former Rats defenseman Jamie McBain and current Carolina Hurricane participated in the skills competition for “Team Staal,” as well.
