Empire State Cup Standings Games Ending February 11, 2011
There are five AHL clubs in New York State, the most of any state in the league. Those five teams vying for the 2010-11 Empire State Cup are: Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers), Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils), Binghamton Senators (Ottawa Senators), Rochester Americans (Florida Panthers) and Syracuse Crunch (Anaheim Ducks). The records below indicate the head-to-head standings between the five thus far this season.
Most Recent Update: February 11, 2011 @ Rochester: Binghamton Senators 3 Rochester Americans 0. The Binghamton Senators put up a picket fence offensive with a goal in each period in their 3-0 blanking of the Rochester Americans. Barry Brust made a spectacular goaltending display hold up by stopping all 36 shots he faced to record the shutout. Cody Bass notched his second goal of the year for the eventual winner. While both Erik Condra and Cory Locke posted their 17th goals for the B-Sens.
Binghamton continues to be the class of upstate New York when it comes to the AHL. They look to be the lone representative in this year’s Calder Cup playoffs from New York, unless something really unforeseen and miraculous happens.
